An independent comparison site for lab-grown diamond retailers, with the business model stated openly.
Who we are
GrownDiamond is a small, owner-operated website. We are not a jeweler, a grading laboratory or a gemology practice, and we do not sell diamonds. Our goal is to help you compare lab-grown diamond retailers using information anyone can check: published policies, public listings, certification details, and payment and shipping terms.
We earn money from affiliate commissions: when you click some of our links and buy, the retailer may pay us a commission at no extra cost to you. Not every retailer we review pays us, and a commission never raises a retailer's editor's score. Partners may be shown more prominently in "where to buy" sections, and we label them. What we commit to
Say what we did and did not do
We do not claim to have tested, visited or bought from a retailer unless we did. Where a page rests on public information only, it says so.
Cite what can be checked
Policies, certifications and terms come from the retailer's own pages or the grading labs, and we mark them as the retailer's statements.
Be open about money
We disclose affiliate relationships next to the buttons and on every page that carries them.
Correct mistakes
Prices, policies and promotions change. If something is out of date or wrong, tell us and we will fix it.
How our editor's scores work
Each retailer gets an editor's score out of 5. It is our opinion, built from public information on the review date. It is not an average of customer ratings and it is not the result of physical testing. Four areas count equally:
- Certification and transparency: which independent labs grade the stones, whether reports are provided, and how clearly specifications are shown.
- Selection and price position: breadth of public listings and, where we can check it, how prices compare for the same specification. Prices change daily, so always compare the exact stone.
- Returns and warranty: return window, return shipping, resizing, warranty, and loss or damage terms, as published by the retailer.
- Service, shipping and payment information: how easy the retailer is to reach, stated shipping times, financing and payment options.
Where we have not purchased from a retailer, the review says so. We update pages when policies change or a reader reports an error, and each page shows when it was last edited.
